Chimp Spanner began as a one man multi-instrumental progressive metal entity, with the independent release of Imperium Vorago in 2004. Since then Chimp (aka Paul Antonio Ortiz) has come to be an integral player in the international online prog/tech djent scene, having joined the ranks of the boundary pushing Basick Records label to release a further two records.
Part Chimp is an English rock band from Camberwell in London formed by Tim Cedar (vocals and guitar), Jon Hamilton (a.k.a. The VU was a band formed in 1985. The founder, Ross Valory, is known as the bass player for Journey. Along with Valory, Kevin Chalfant (The Storm, 707) was the lead vocalist. The band was mostly a side project for Ross Valory until Journey produced another record. After the new Journey album was released, Ross Valory put the VU on hold.
